Ashraf Consulting Engineers is a Miami based certified minority structural engineering firm. The principal of the firm is Syed Mehdi Ashraf, P.E., who holds a Master’s degree in structural engineering from the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Warangal, India. He holds several licenses, certificates and awards. Recently in January 2015, he was conferred with the “Distinguished Alumni in Professional Achievements Award” by his alma mater, National Institute of Technology, which is one of the premium engineering colleges in India. Mehdi Ashraf also holds a Master’s degree in Humanity and Social Sciences from the Middlesex University, London.

 Mehdi Ashraf’s experience includes structural engineering, construction, forensic engineering, building code implementation, project management, concrete restoration, historic buildings, building envelope product reviews and teaching. His engineering philosophy evolves over this varied experience of three decades.

 In the past, Mehdi Ashraf worked with private sector firms like Kyzer and Timmerman, E. N. Bechamps and Associates, Pistorino and Alam Consulting Engineers and as a partner with Gopman Consulting Engineers. He has also been associated with the Cities of Miami Beach, North Miami, North Miami Beach and Sunny Isles and the Village of Miami Shores. He has worked with the Department of Civil Engineering, Florida International University as an Adjunct Professor.

 Mehdi Ashraf has worked as a Structural Engineer on several landmark projects in South Florida, India and Dubai. The long list of projects include landmark buildings like the Trump Towers in Sunny Isles Beach; the Caribbean, Cabanas, and Continuum II in Miami Beach; cargo buildings, terminal building, toll collection plaza and parking structures at the Miami International Airport; Sharjah Cricket Stadium and desalination plants in Dubai and World Bank training auditorium in Hyderabad, India. He has the experience of design and construction of a wide range of structures including hospital buildings, airport terminals, cargo buildings, residential structures, commercial structures, hotels, educational institutions, sports stadium, holiday resorts, industrial structures, Reverse Osmosis desalination plants, swimming pools, high capacity water tanks, corporate centers for industrial groups etc.
